It was kinda awkward having a transgender waiter in Italy...

Florence, Italy.

This picture is me going into a sketchy basement to eat food that wasn’t great, in a small room that smelled of cat pee, with a gender-confused man as our waiter. Yes, I know what you are thinking; all red flags and we should have left.

Ha! But alas we didn’t. The second picture is me laughing at how awkward it all was and at our group all being on our phones because we have WiFi for the first time in a week. Well, we ended up pushing through our surroundings to try the food because our tour guide told us it was “authentic Italian food”.

Thanks to him, we all have that odd experience to look back on. 😅 Honestly, at the moment I didn’t know if I should call our male waiter trying-to-be-a-woman a Ma’am or Sir. In today’s crazy world, how do you go about navigating gender conflict? Although I am very clear-cut in the political world, when I am talking to real humans, face to face, I can’t help but feel some compassion at their very visible life crisis and gender confusion. What an incredibly heavy burden to carry... Not wanting to make this individual feel bad, none of us said anything. I can’t help but wondering if this uncomfortable situation will continue to become more frequent. Will I have to explain these situations to my children at a young age someday? This isn’t the first time I’ve run into an awkward situation with a trans person. One time I was in Wyoming in the ladies room and a transgender woman (biological man) used the bathroom next to me... It was more than a little uncomfortable. 😬 ⁉️So here is the point. I’m curious to hear from other conservatives. What has your response been when you meet transgender people? How will/do you navigate those experiences? And how do you explain trans people too young children? >>> Comment with your thoughts and how you would handle these situations.
